How the Rating System Works

Rating Criteria

Every dish will be rated on 6 different criteria: presentation, smell, taste, texture, handling, and ingredients. Each category will be rated on a scale of 1 to 20. 1 being the worst, 10 being an middle of the road mediocre, and 20 being exceptionally mind blowing. 

Presentation

These reviews mainly focus on the food and not the experience, accordingly, the score will reflect such. 

Smell

Smell... nuff said

Taste 

Taste is subjective. I don't claim to have a perfect pallet, just my own. My tastes may not align with yours and that's okay. 

Texture

Not all crunches are created equal and I'd like to make it my goal to spread this understanding.

Handling 

Food is meant to be eaten, I need to be able to physically get the food into my mouth in order to eat it. Anything that gets in the way of this is an affront to God.

Ingredients

How well do the ingredients compliment each other? Are they a well executed combination of classic ingredients, a creative collage of contrasting flavors, or an ill-conceived discord of combative elements?

Final Score

The scores from all categories are totaled to reveal the final score. Anything with a score of over 100  qualifies as Slops Up Recommended!

Après Pu Reviews

Ideally, reviews will be written shortly after the burger has been eaten. Unfortunately, this blog was started after many burgers have already been eaten and digested. For the sake of transparency these reviews will be labeled as Après Pu which will signify that the review has been filtered through the lens of hindsight.

Burgers are the perfect combination of meat, vegetables, and bread. They incorporate a variety of different tastes, textures, and temperatures into every bite and do so while allowing a complimentary side dish to shine alongside it.  Other things aside from burgers will also be reviewed, but burgers are the main focus
